Feast of the Immaculate Conception

To our Immaculate Conception parishioners and friends,

Our parish feast day, December 8th is fast approaching. This is always a special time for all of us. We honor our patroness, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, in a special way. Our faith community gathers together for a time of prayer and sharing. This year is no exception. We are hosting our first Fiesta! Our celebration will begin at 11:00 AM with fun games, a cake walk, bingo games, and delicious food. Dancing music will start at 1:30 PM and will be provided by Danny Boy and Mari and the Impresion.  The raffle ticket winners will be announced at 4:15 PM. The Silent Auction will be ongoing and bids will close at 4:00 PM with the highest bidders also announced at 4:15 PM.

100% of the proceeds from this event will go towards our Rejuvenation fund. Our Pastor Father Broussard has highlighted in his recent communications the desperate need of funds to replace our heating and cooling systems. Our building is over 58 years old, and in order to continue to meet the needs of our parishioners and visitors we must ensure that the physical structure of our building is sound and that its environment is conducive to spiritual growth.

Today we are asking for your assistance in making this event a successful one. Many of you have asked the question, how can I help?  We are in need of baked or store bought cakes for our cake walk. Do you have boxed gifts that you have never used and would like to get rid of? Bring them to the parish office for use as prizes. We will need folks to man the various game and food booths, sell raffle tickets, and other fun duties. Please leave your name and phone number with the sellers located in the vestibule. Or you can call the parish office at (505) 247-4271 and leave a message.

Let us all pray for the success of this event. Pray that we may once again come together as a faith community for the benefit of all.

Peace and Blessings,

The Immaculate Conception Fiesta Committee

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Parish Mission Statement

We are a diverse community, a Jesuit parish in downtown Albuquerque. Rooted in Ignatian spirituality, we are committed to the service of faith and the promotion of justice. We gather at Eucharist to probe the Scriptures and to be nourished by Christ's Body. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we continue our mission of loving and serving God and neighbor. In our words and actions, we labor with Christ, crucified and resurrected, to respond to our brothers' and sisters' spiritual, emotional, physical, and educational needs so as to joyfully build up God's Kingdom.
