Welcome to Albuquerque's Downtown Parish of the Immaculate Conception -- a parish of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santa Fe
Located near Central Avenue in the heart of Albuquerque, Immaculate Conception has been an important part of downtown Albuquerque since its dedication in May of 1884.
Founded and faithfully served by members of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) until June 2021, the imprint of Sts. Ignatius, Francis Xavier, and countless others Jesuit saints is solidly etched on the hearts of its parishioners. The people of Immaculate Conception are dedicated to living out the teaching of the Master and Lord, Jesus, by caring for the less fortunate, preaching the gospel by word and by action each day, and by living out fully the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Immaculate Conception is an inclusive parish, welcoming all people and being a place of prayer and spiritual strength for everyone.

Prayer for the Synod: Adsumus Sanctae Spiritus
Every session of the Second Vatican Council began with the prayer Adsumus Sancte Spiritus, the first word of the original Latin, meaning, “We stand before You, Holy Spirit.” As we embrace this Synodal Process, the following prayer invites the Holy Spirit to be at work in us so that we may be a community and a people of grace.
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
We are weak and sinful; do not let us promote disorder.
Do not let ignorance lead us down the wrong path nor partiality influence our actions.
Let us find in You our unity so that we may journey together to eternal life
and not stray from the way of truth and what is right.
All this we ask of You, who are at work in every place and time,
in the communion of the Father and the Son, forever and ever. Amen.
